Artie Barretta, 11/4/1941 – 9/16/2006

Tragedy struck our family last week when Artie passed away after a 60-hour battle for his life. We’re all shocked and in disbelief. Rather than writing much more, I thought I would post the eulogy that I gave at his funeral.

Eulogy

For those of you that have, or have had a 3-year old, you know how challenging it can be to get the little rugrat to sleep. Each evening before Artie’s beloved grandson, my son, Benjamin, goes to sleep, he wants to hear a story. When it’s my turn to put him to sleep, I usually can only muster something rather lame or uninspired. Regardless, he seems to love my stories. If only he had been old enough to hear a good Artie story. Not sure why, but I guess our fondness of stories starts early in life.
